Kids (and OH) open their stocking presents first on our bed which are from santa, we then lead the kids into the living room with their eyes shut and then they open their eyes all together.

amy - thats what we do!!!! when i was a kid we always opened our stockings on our beds, i loved doing that, it was my fave part of the day, we do that with our two now as well. we never have any expensive pressies in our stockings though, its cheap stuff, like bubbles, and pencils etc, and always have satsumas and chocolate coins in them too
