i think home schooing is a lovely thing to do for your child but i think maybe it is better when it is on part time basis (where the child goes to school 2 or 3 times a week) so that the child can get the social interaction he needs. but i think also children learn better from actually doing things, rather than reading from books. i would love to part time home school my children but i wouldnt be able to afford to do it, and i would worry i wasnt doing a good enough job!!!

i have thought about home schooling duncan but there is so much to consider and so much paper work to go through before starting.....

I have been teaching him for the last year anyway, but that's just because the kids go to school so late here (7years) so i gave him a head start...xxx

it's the swiss way of life.....hun...xxx but we get by.....kids are kids for longer here but the also get a great education, everybody goes to college after school, there is no other option other than uni that is....you can't just leave school and go and work, you learn a trade so the kids are in school until they are about 18 years....

it's a good system in my point of view...(have to say, i didn't think that years ago when i first came here, must be nearly a native now....hehe)

It does sound very good.
I do think that they start too early here!
They were going to change it here so you had to stay in education till you were 18 but i don't know if it has changed yet or if it actually will or not.

Home school is a good idea if u have the knologe, experance and time to do it. But i agree that chrildren need to mix with others and tend to lern off of other kids too so for me id rather send them to school.
Our Katie loves school, she would'nt be without it and miss's it when she is on holidays x
