PostSubject: Advice needed - terrible 2's!!   31st March 2009, 1:40 pm

This is a question for those of you with toddlers (katie, Gemma etc...) Sam is 2 - 3 in August - and he dosn't seem to listen to a word I say. I know he is quite switched on so I think he is just being naughty! He always runs away from me when we go places and when I shout stop he just keeps going and looks back and laughs. He has almost run into the road a few times. What can I do with him? He can be a good boy but he seems to prefer being naughty. Please tell me this is just a stage!!! Is it a boy thing?

Hum this is a difficult one as alot of people will have alot of diffrent opions!

I would say with him only being 2 maybe keep him in a buggy near busy roads? And explain to him when ur strapping him in that you have to put him in his buggy as he runs off and scares mummy. Im not a huge reins fan (Sorry norma) But i do think they are great for toddlers that are learning to walk, when u have a 2 year old running about they would just scream and drop to the floor, thats when accidents happen!

Another point is get hom to hold your hand every were u go, and if he tries to pull off hold it harder! Get down to his level and tell him why it is naughty to run off!

Kids will be kids (And can i say its not just boys! Some girls are just as bad) <---- Norma! Smeg!

He will grow out of it, but you need to hit it on the head now hun or he will get worse and sooner or later can become out of control!

I hope iv helped x

Might get a wrist strap - thats a good idea. I used to use reins when he was smaller but he tends to enjoy hanging off of them! He gets so excited when we go places and I think this is why he runs off so a wrist strap might help. Thanks all Smile
